ok.. im new to tanking.. and i made a pally to tank with.. can sum1 tell me the proper way to pull and tank it? pls no abbreviations.. as im new to pallys.. thnx alot guys.. OH and stat priorities?Best way to tank, skill wise, is to go Prot spec, keep a good shield with you, fire up Righteous Fury, and Consecrate when you get a mob going. Righteous Fury increases the threat you
generate by ridiculous amounts whenever you cast a holy spell, and Consecrate is holy.
Don't be afraid to heal yourself if the healers are falling behind, and don't forget that you have many different types of bubbles - including one that reduces all damage by half, rather than making you immune to damage. If you use full Pally bubble - Holy Shield or whatever, I can't recall off the top of my head - mobs
stop attacking you and go for whoever is next on the threat list - usually the healers or Mages.I have a question too. i had a prot pala in lvl 65 and is sick of having mb all the time since my mana goes out so easily. does anyone have any trick to keep mana up so i dont need to waste time on drinking between every pull?just use seal of wisdom, BoSa, it will keep ur mana full at all times, i was tanking like this till AN, then i used seal of corruptionHave Blessing of Sanctuary and Seal of Wisdom up, Judge Light and don't spam consecrate. The other thing to do is pull HUGE. If the mobs allow, pull 7 or 8 of them and go crazy, All the dodging and blocking and parrying you will be doing will refill your mana faster than you can use it.Also another thing to do is grab the gyph that increases the mana you gain from being healed. Spirtal attunement is so much better, at 80 my tank gains just about 1k mana from 8k heal.
As others have said using seal of wisdom when ever you want too or use judgement of the wise and let the mobs also help refill your mana tank.fail thread.
"if healer is falling behind, stop and heal yourself?"
please, don't
post on forums anymore if you are going to taunt and antagonize the nubs.Did you think I meant that the Paladin would be charging ahead of the party healers?
No, I mean that for leveling up (that's before level 80, so the rest of this post may just blot itself out to you. I hear anything about levels 1-79 is non-euclidean to most 80s) going through a 5man instance can be pretty tricky, especially if its someones first time playing a healer class. That being said, a Paladin - wearing mail (that's right, they don't start with Plate! This is low level, the *leveling* levels!) can soak up more damage than most of the other classes, giving them a feeling of invincibility. Short of making an utterly catastrophic pull and yanking way too many mobs onto themselves and getting obliterated immediately, they're going to take a lot of damage.
Starting Priests have a few fast-cast heals; Flash Heal, Lesser Heal. However, when a newbie Priest sees that much damage coming in, they'll most likely panic and go for Greater Heal. Greater Heal is a 3 second cast and means that in the time it takes for that to cast, the Paladin could take a considerable amount of damage. Paladins are not Warriors; they have their own heal spells. Just because they're in
a party and not solo'ing anymore doesn't mean they have to turn off Holy Light and Flash of Light; they can still use them in the presence of another healer.
So, when the
heals start to lag behind the damage coming in, the Paladin should have no reservations about using his own methods of healing to help shore it up.
In fact, if a Paladin is taking steady constant damage and dies while they still have mana, it's
also their own fault they died.
The whole point behind a Paladin is their survivability. They are NOT Warriors; they have in-combat healing methods. The whole point behind a Paladin is their survivability. They are NOT Warriors; they have in-combat healing methods.
QFT.

That's one of the reasons why I prefer having a Paladin tank when I'm playing a healer.
